It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ideke Funke Jansen, born in Delfzijl, Netherlands, June 18th, 1935, died in Lagos, Portugal, August 13th, 2024. She is survived by her husband Bob, children Carolien (Joan), Marielke (Leslie), and Roel (Jacque), grand children, and great grand children. Bob and Ideke started their great adventure of life in December 1958, moving to Saudi Arabia, and, over the years, to several other countries in South and East Asia. Ever curious, Ideke soaked up the culture of each country, and made loving homes and many friends in sometimes challenging circumstances. She was an avid tennis player, and practiced yoga along the way. She and Bob continued to travel extensively after retiring in Portugal 33 years ago, often visiting their kids along the way. In Portugal her passion for golf and bridge knew no bounds. She was a caring, open, and fun loving lady, who lived life to the fullest.

There is so much I miss about my mother, not least her sense of humor, her style, her interest, her cooking, and her warmth. Her death has left a big hole
